Giesen Wines, established in 1981 by Alex, Theo and Marcel Giesen, now has 640 acres in Marlborough and 75 acres in Canterbury. The winemaker is Andrew Blake and the estate specialises in Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. The wines have complex fruit aromas, making them enjoyable to drink while young but with refreshing acidity giving the wines backbone for long bottle ageing.
