Jean Pierre de Smet is an accountant by trade who trained with Jacques Seysses of Domaine Dujac and subsequently went to the University of Dijon to study viticulture and winemaking. Jean-Pierre created the estate and the running has recently been handed down to Olivier Leriche, the technical director since 1998 on behalf of its owners, AXA Millesimes.
The wines are finely made with great attention to detail, purity and elegance, rather than muscle and power.
